Greensboro Historic Preservation Commission schedules Sept. 30 meeting

GREENSBORO — Greensboro’s Historic Preservation Commission is scheduled to meet Wednesday, Sept. 30, as the city’s board continues its monthly review of work affecting local historic districts.

The city’s official commission page lists the meeting for 4 p.m. in the Plaza Level Conference Room of the Melvin Municipal Office Building, 300 W. Washington St. The page says the commission normally meets on the last Wednesday of each month unless a schedule entry says otherwise.

The nine-member commission reviews applications for Certificates of Appropriateness involving exterior work in Greensboro’s College Hill, Dunleath and Fisher Park historic districts. The city says major projects such as new construction, additions and significant alterations may require commission approval, while some minor work can be handled by staff.

The Sept. 30 listing is a meeting schedule notice, not an approval of any particular project. Residents who are tracking a property or application should review the city’s meeting materials and confirm the latest agenda before attending.
