Greensboro residents have a Saturday morning opportunity to hear updates and ask questions about the city's community-safety network.
The Greensboro Collaborative Action Network, known as GSO CAN, will hold its first Saturday community meeting from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Kellin Foundation, 4010 Walker Avenue. The city says the meeting is open to everyone and childcare will be provided.
GSO CAN launched in January through the city's Community Safety and Police departments. The city describes it as a collaboration among community groups, public-safety partners, public-health experts, educators, business leaders, faith communities, elected officials and residents.
- What to know: The meeting is designed for updates, partner discussion and community questions.
- Who is affected: Greensboro residents, neighborhood groups, parents, public-safety partners, nonprofits and civic leaders.
- Why it matters: Violence-prevention work depends on trust, shared data and consistent public engagement beyond formal city meetings.
Residents interested in future meetings can follow the official GSO CAN site for updates.
