Greensboro LaunchCamp gives idea-stage founders a two-day business test run

Greensboro residents with a business idea but no finished company can spend the first weekend of August testing that idea with mentors and other founders.

LaunchCamp, a two-day program from Launch Greensboro, is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at transform GSO, 111 Bain St. The Chamber calendar lists the cost at $29 per person and says attendance is expected both days.

The workshop uses Lean Startup methods to help participants define customer problems, test assumptions, develop a minimum viable product, prepare for customer discovery and examine costs and revenue. That makes the program a practical pre-launch checkpoint for residents who are still deciding whether an idea is ready for customers, funding or a formal business plan.

People with an idea to test can review the full schedule and register through the Greensboro Chamber. The program is designed for idea-stage entrepreneurs, so participants do not need to wait until they have a storefront or a finished product.
