Guilford County commissioners will hold a legislative hearing Thursday on a conditional-zoning request for property at 5143 Randleman Road.
The hearing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, in the commissioners' chambers at the Old Guilford County Courthouse, 301 W. Market St. in Greensboro. The case, 25-11-PLBD-00140, covers about 4.64 acres and follows a Planning Board tie vote that left the request denied.
The proposal would change a mix of agricultural and heavy-industrial zoning to agricultural and conditional heavy-industrial zoning. Submitted conditions would allow automobile, truck and semi repair and light-equipment repair, prohibit trailers containing hazardous materials and limit repair activity to 8:30 a.m. through 8 p.m.
County materials say the heavy-industrial portion is inconsistent with the property's Rural Living and Residential future-land-use classifications, meaning approval would also require a future-land-use amendment. The hearing is for public comment; the proposal has not been approved.
