Greensboro-area employers have a free workforce-support event on the calendar Wednesday, Aug. 5, as local partners host a mental-health showcase designed for HR professionals, managers and other people leaders.
Beyond the EAP: A Mental Health Showcase runs from 9 to 11 a.m. and is organized through a collaboration among Goodwill Industries of Central North Carolina, United Way of Greater Greensboro and GuilfordWorks. Organizers say the format is intended to be flexible: attendees can stop in for 10 minutes or stay for the full event.
The event will feature community-based support resources, self-care activities, food and takeaways for improving team engagement. That makes it an economic-development story at the employer level: companies competing for workers increasingly have to think about retention, burnout and whether employees know how to access help before a workplace problem becomes a turnover problem.
There is no cost to attend, but employers should reserve a spot through the Greensboro Chamber event page and confirm the location and event details before arriving.
