Henry County Planning Commission to hear 76-acre industrial rezoning request

<p>Henry County's Planning Commission is scheduled to hear a rezoning request Aug. 12 involving about <strong>76.121 acres</strong> at <strong>315 Carver Road</strong> in the Horsepasture District, according to a public notice posted July 28.</p>
<p>Giving Tree Lumber, LLC, is asking to move the property from a mix of B-1 commercial, S-R suburban residential, A-1 agricultural and I-2 limited industrial zoning to I-1 industrial zoning. The notice says the request would bring the existing use into compliance, allow improvements to the current site and permit possible expansion onto undeveloped property.</p>
<p>The hearing is set for <strong>6 p.m. Aug. 12</strong> in the Summerlin Meeting Room at the Henry County Administration Building on Kings Mountain Road in Collinsville. The Planning Commission is expected to make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors, which has a separate public hearing scheduled for <strong>6 p.m. Aug. 25</strong> at the same location.</p>
