A Greensboro homeowner says she is caught in a frustrating cycle of phone calls after two storm-damaged trees were left dangerously close to a power line.
Kristin Coia says the trees on her Forest Valley Road property were uprooted during Friday's severe weather and are now bent over, hovering just above a power line. She says she called Duke Energy immediately out of worry the trees could come down on the live wires, and has called the utility every day since, but has received conflicting information about who is responsible. Coia says Duke told her to contact a tree-removal company, but several companies that came out told her the situation was too dangerous and that she needed to call Duke instead.
In the meantime, Coia says her daughter cannot come out and play and she cannot let her dog outside, and she finds herself constantly watching the trees and the weather forecast, saying she feels trapped.
