A partnership is providing therapy care for children across Southwest Virginia.

Carilion Children's unveiled the Panda Cares Center of Hope Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Tanglewood Mall, made possible thanks to support from the Panda Express restaurant chain. The new center supports specialized mental, emotional, physical and spiritual needs for children, and the investment also includes new pediatric therapy equipment. "If you think about physical therapy, so they can meet their needs," said Carilion Children's Assistant Vice President Amy Kageals.

The collaboration is not new. Carilion Children's and Panda Express have worked side by side for years, and Panda Express guests and associates in Southwest Virginia have raised nearly $250,000 for Carilion Children's since 2016. There are plans to raise an additional $500,000 over the next eight years.
