— A trip along Interstate 77 took an unexpected turn Saturday evening when a vehicle wound up upside down in the median.

The Hillsville Fire Department was dispatched to the northbound lanes near mile marker 11.2 around 7:41 p.m. on October 10 for a reported single-vehicle crash.

When firefighters arrived, they found the vehicle overturned in the median. Fortunately, the driver had already climbed out and was not reporting any injuries, according to the department.

The crash left the vehicle resting upside down, but the driver apparently escaped the wreck without reported injury.
