Apparently, Rockingham County didn't get the memo about the nationwide political shift.

While election results across the country showed Democrats making gains in several key races, Rockingham County voters had a different plan.

Republicans swept the board, winning every seat up for grabs in the county and keeping Rockingham firmly in the red column.

From the sheriff's office to the Clerk of Superior Court and other local races, Republican candidates came out on top.

It was a clean sweep for the GOP in Rockingham County, proving that while political winds may be shifting in other parts of the country, voters here weren't necessarily interested in changing direction.

Rockingham County stayed red – and apparently, it wasn't even close to changing the color!
