More than 1.5 million pounds of hot dogs, bacon, deli meat, bratwursts and more have been recalled nationwide.

Kayem Foods Inc. is recalling about 1.58 million pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products because they may have been stored at unsafe temperatures, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said. The products were made from March 31 to Oct. 7 at the company's Chelsea, Massachusetts facility and were shipped to retailers and food service locations across the United States and to Hong Kong. The recalled items carry establishment numbers EST. M/P 7839, EST. P 20935A or EST. M 9520 inside the USDA inspection mark.

The company said it began investigating after a customer reported warm products at delivery on Oct. 1, and it found that a warehouse cooler had experienced temperature deviations while storing the products, federal officials said. No illnesses have been confirmed, but the USDA said some recalled items could still be in consumers' refrigerators. They should be thrown away or returned to the store where they were purchased, and anyone concerned about an illness should contact a health care provider.
