Nelson Traffic Alert - Martinsville, VA. — A two-vehicle rear-end collision on Rives Road in Martinsville sent three people to the hospital Sunday evening, bringing emergency crews to the scene.

The crash involved two vehicles and resulted in three patients being transported for medical treatment.

The Martinsville Police Department is investigating the collision.

Martinsville Fire and EMS, along with Henry County Public Safety, also responded to assist.

Authorities advised that Rives Road would remain blocked until at least 8 p.m. while emergency personnel worked the scene.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the roadway could safely reopen.

No additional information about the cause of the crash or the conditions of those transported was immediately available.
