Polls are open across Virginia until 7 p.m. today for the 2026 general election, with federal races at the top of the ballot and a long list of local contests underneath.

In Martinsville, voters will choose two City Council members from five candidates. In Henry County, two candidates are contesting the at-large seat on the Henry County School Board, Joseph H. M. Schenk Jr. and Jonathan Martin. Both localities are also voting for the 9th District U.S. House seat and a U.S. Senate seat, and three constitutional amendments are on the ballot statewide.

To vote in person, Virginians need to show one acceptable form of ID. WDBJ7 plans live coverage from 7 to 11 p.m. on WZBJ24, its Facebook page and WDBJ7+, with cut-ins during regular evening programming and a special election night show at 11 p.m. Hometown results will be posted after polls close, and statewide results are available from the Virginia Department of Elections.
