Rooster Walk 17 is scheduled for May 27-30, 2027, at Pop's Farm near Martinsville, and organizers have announced 19 acts in the first wave, led by Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country and Andy Frasco and The U.N., two of the most requested performers in the festival's annual fan survey.
Donato is set to make his sixth consecutive Rooster Walk appearance, and Frasco and his band are returning for their third after playing the festival in 2025. Executive Director Johnny Buck said fans made it clear they wanted both acts back. The announced lineup also includes Keller and The Keels, the Trey Hensley Band, psychedelic funk-rock group Dizgo, the Kanika Moore Band, Sol Driven Train, Asheville brass ensemble Empire Strikes Brass, North Carolina bluegrass band Big Fat Gap, Saxsquatch, the Bella Rayne Band, Wolph, 65 North Pickers, the Moga Family Band, Ettore Buzzini, That Laces, Griffin, DJ What and magician Hunter Rhodes Magic.
The full festival is expected to feature about 45 artists performing roughly 100 sets across six stages, and three of the six highest-billed acts have yet to be announced, including the top headliner. Rooster Walk was founded in 2009 by Buck and co-founder William Baptist in memory of friends Edwin Penn and Walker Shank, both Martinsville natives who died in their 20s, and the nonprofit has donated more than $400,000 to charitable causes since then, including more than $156,000 to a scholarship endowment. Visitor spending in Martinsville-Henry County reached $79.8 million in 2025, supporting 833 local jobs and generating $3.2 million in local tax revenue.
