Some residents of Chatham are being urged to boil their tap water after a water main break just west of Chatham High School.

The advisory comes from the Virginia Department of Health, the Pittsylvania County Health Department and the Town of Chatham, which warned that failure to follow it could result in stomach or intestinal illness.

The advisory applies to residents and businesses in the service areas covering the Tightsqueeze Industrial Park, Chatham Crossing Mobile Home Park and the Pittsylvania County Schools Transportation Department.
