Sovah Health has announced the addition of Dr. Amir Shahzad Butt to Sovah Physician Practices, where he will provide gastroenterology services through Sovah Surgical Specialists – Danville.
Hospital officials say Dr. Butt brings extensive experience in gastroenterology and advanced endoscopic procedures, expanding the practice's ability to care for patients with complex digestive health conditions.

Dr. Butt's areas of expertise include colon cancer screenings, colon polyps, bile duct stones and obstructions, pancreatic cancer, acid reflux (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy.
He also performs advanced procedures, including ERCP, which is used to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the bile ducts and pancreas.
His experience also includes treating patients with pancreatitis, liver failure, cirrhosis, upper gastrointestinal bleeding and iron deficiency anemia.
Dr. Butt earned his medical degree from Quaid-e-Azam Medical College in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. He completed his residency at NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, followed by a fellowship at The Brooklyn Hospital Center.
Dr. Butt is now accepting new patients.
