Families and adult athletes planning for the fall season should check in with Henry County Parks and Recreation this month. The department lists August registration for girls basketball, youth flag football, junior and senior tackle football, football cheerleading and adult flag football.
The youth programs cover girls basketball for ages 8 through 13, flag football for ages 7 and 8, junior tackle football for ages 9 and 10, senior tackle football for ages 11 and 12, and cheerleading for grades 3 through 8. Adult flag football is open to players 18 and older.
Games for the listed fall leagues are scheduled from September through November. Children must live in Henry County or attend a public school in the county, and the department says a registration form is required for each child and each sport.
How to register: Call Henry County Parks and Recreation at 276-634-4640 for the exact deadline or a registration form. Forms are also available through the department office, schools and the county website.
