Nearly 2 Pounds of Meth, Fentanyl, Heroin and Cocaine: Franklin County Investigators Uncover Major Drug Haul
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. — A traffic stop involving a truck hauling another vehicle on a car dolly turned into a major narcotics investigation, with authorities reporting the seizure of nearly 889 grams of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, heroin and other drugs.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division began investigating suspected drug activity in the Boones Mill area on Feb. 20, 2026.
During the investigation, deputies made contact with Drew Conner Plaster, 47, of Henry County, who was driving a truck pulling another vehicle on a car dolly.
Investigators became interested in the vehicle being hauled. K9 Vito was brought in and reportedly gave a positive alert for the presence of drugs.
A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of suspected illegal narcotics and other items, including:
Approximately 889 grams of methamphetamine Approximately 16 grams of fentanyl, xylazine and ortho-methylfentanyl Approximately 9 grams of cocaine Approximately 8 grams of heroin, fentanyl and xylazine Oxycodone Alprazolam A firearm
Forensic testing later confirmed the composition of the seized substances.
Following the investigation and forensic analysis, warrants were issued for Plaster on Aug. 10, 2026.
He faces charges including:
Possession with intent to distribute more than 200 grams of methamphetamine PWID fentanyl PWID cocaine PWID heroin PWID ortho-methylfentanyl Possession of oxycodone Possession of alprazolam Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon within 10 years Possession of a firearm while possessing with intent to distribute a Schedule I/II substance
Plaster was served with the charges on Aug. 11 and remains in custody at the Henry County Adult Detention Center.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said the investigation highlights its ongoing efforts to target drug trafficking throughout the county.
A truck, a car dolly and a vehicle that investigators apparently wanted to take a closer look at — what started as a drug investigation ended with a very long list of alleged offenses.
