HENRY AND PITTSYLVANIA COUNTIES, Va. - Weather alert, issued September 12, 2026, at 10:02 p.m. EDT: The National Weather Service in Blacksburg warns that rounds of showers and thunderstorms may produce rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour.
The rain may cause water to pond on roads and produce poor-drainage flooding, especially in urban areas. Drivers should watch for standing water, slow down and avoid sudden braking to reduce the risk of hydroplaning.
The Special Weather Statement includes Henry and Pittsylvania counties and remains in effect until 11:15 p.m. EDT Saturday, September 12.
