The Henry County Sheriff's Office has identified 65-year-old Darryl Bernard Dandridge as the suspect in a domestic shooting at a Sheetz store in Ridgeway.

Investigators say the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute involving several people who know each other through current and former relationships. Deputies say the dispute began earlier in the day after a vehicle was returned and a disagreement over personal belongings, then continued through telephone calls and text messages before the individuals encountered one another at Sheetz. There, deputies say, the dispute escalated into a confrontation, a firearm was discharged and a woman was shot. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Dandridge was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and the sheriff's office says it has consulted with the Henry County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office about additional charges. Investigators do not believe this was a random act of violence or that there is an ongoing threat to the public.
