Martinsville-Henry County Ghost Walk returns Oct. 9-10

The Martinsville-Henry County Historical Society will host its family-friendly Ghost Walk on Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, in historic downtown Martinsville.

Martinsville Tourism lists tours from 6 to 8 p.m. both nights, with guided groups leaving every 15 minutes. The route moves through historic West Main Street, Moss Street North, West Church Street and Bridge Street North before returning to the Historic Martinsville-Henry County Heritage Museum at 1 East Main Street.

The event is described as an informative, not-scary walk featuring the area’s history and notable residents. Space is limited, reservations are encouraged through the Historical Society, admission is free and donations are requested to support the organization’s preservation work.

Planning details: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10, 6-8 p.m.; start and finish at the Heritage Museum, 1 E. Main St., Martinsville. The venue listing gives (276) 403-5361 for contact and says an optional Haunted Courthouse can be added by participants.
