. — President Donald Trump returned to his home state of New York on Friday night, promoting his administration’s economic and immigration agenda while pledging to help Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman compete for the governor’s office in the traditionally Democratic state.
Speaking to supporters in Syracuse, Trump highlighted his administration’s message on taxes, energy costs and public safety as Republicans ramp up their efforts ahead of the November 2026 midterm elections.
“We’re in the Golden Age of America,” Trump told the crowd, encouraging supporters to bring the same enthusiasm to the midterm elections that fueled his presidential campaigns.
Trump said electing Republicans across the ballot would help advance his priorities, including lower taxes, more affordable energy and safer streets.
Blakeman, a Republican seeking to win the New York governorship, is part of the party’s broader effort to expand its reach in a state where Democrats have maintained a strong political presence.
The Syracuse rally comes as Republicans and Democrats prepare for a closely watched midterm election cycle that will shape the balance of power in Washington and influence political leadership in states across the country.
Trump’s appearance put New York at the center of the Republican campaign message, with the president urging voters to support candidates who align with his administration’s agenda.
