Reynolda Community Day offers free Oct. 10 art and history activities

WINSTON-SALEM — Reynolda House Museum of American Art will host Community Day: Picturing Freedom on Saturday, Oct. 10, with free admission and programming centered on art, history and creative expression.

The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Reynolda House, 2250 Reynolda Road. Reynolda says the museum admission is free all day, while hands-on activities and performances are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are open to all ages.

The program is tied to the nation's 250th anniversary and the exhibitions Flash Point: The Civil Rights Photography of Danny Lyon and Art & Democracy. Art activities will be offered on the lawn by Reynolda and community partners, including a/perture cinema, Delta Arts Center, Forsyth County Library, Lam Museum of Anthropology, MUSE WS, NCMA Winston-Salem and Sawtooth School for Visual Art.

Before you go: Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. Reynolda says that if weather becomes a problem, performances and hands-on art activities will be modified to take place inside the museum.
