Henry County PSA advances FY27 budget with no proposed water or sewer rate hike

The Henry County Public Service Authority presented its proposed fiscal year 2026-27 budget during an April 20 board meeting, outlining a plan centered on system reliability and stable day-to-day operations.

According to the county release, the proposal totals $14,993,790, with an operating budget of $11,999,484. Officials described the plan as a moderate increase from the current year tied to operating-cost pressures and utility-service demands.

The PSA said the draft does not include changes to customer water or sewer rates. Revenue projections were described as slightly lower year over year, with a more cautious outlook for selected large industrial users.

For Martinsville and Henry County households, the no-rate-change position is the main near-term impact while the board continues budget review ahead of final FY27 adoption actions.
