After just celebrating 100 years in business, window and door manufacturer Pella is closing its location in Reidsville.
Pella Corporation announced Thursday that it is shutting down its plant on Rockingham Drive off Barnes Street and U.S. Highway 29, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification from the North Carolina Department of Commerce. State officials said in the WARN notice that the closure means 133 people will lose their jobs, and that the closure will take place on Jan. 31, 2027.
WXII 12 News has reached out to Pella Corporation for more information as to why the plant is closing. The Iowa-based window and door company unveiled its $20 million manufacturing facility in 2019, and Pella has showroom locations throughout North Carolina, including Boone and High Point.
