Martinsville Police Help High School Seniors Prepare for Real-World Expenses
MARTINSVILLE, Va. — High school seniors got a hands-on lesson in managing money and navigating the costs of adulthood as the Martinsville Police Department participated in the Dollars and Sense Reality Fair hosted by the United Way of Henry County and Martinsville.
The two-day event gave students an opportunity to experience the financial responsibilities they may face after graduation, exposing them to the costs associated with everyday living and the decisions that come with managing a budget.
The Martinsville Police Department said officers appreciated the opportunity to participate, meet students and interact with some of the community's outstanding young people.
The Reality Fair is designed to help students better understand real-world financial challenges as they prepare for life beyond high school.
The department thanked the United Way of Henry County and Martinsville for hosting the event and providing students with an opportunity to gain practical experience before entering adulthood.
