A proposed expansion of the Blue Ridge Airport is scheduled for public review Wednesday, July 29, as Henry County's Board of Zoning Appeals considers three land-use cases with potential implications for jobs, business access and nearby property.
The county's hearing notice lists a special-use permit request from the Blue Ridge Airport Authority to allow expansion of the airport use at 525 Airport Road in the Horsepasture District. The notice says the property is scheduled for rezoning to Industrial District I-1 by the Board of Supervisors on July 28, 2026. The public hearing is set for 1 p.m. in the Summerlin Meeting Room at the county administration building in Collinsville.
The airport request is one of three cases on the agenda. The board also lists a special-use request for a dog-training and daycare facility on Philpott Drive and a variance request tied to a single-family home near Fairystone Park Highway and South Street.
