A 76-acre industrial rezoning request in Henry County's Horsepasture District is scheduled for two public hearings in August.
The Planning Commission will hear case R-26-16 at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, in the Summerlin Meeting Room at the County Administration Building on Kings Mountain Road in Collinsville. The commission will make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors, which has its own hearing set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the same location.
Giving Tree Lumber LLC is asking to rezone about 76.121 acres at 315 Carver Road from a mix of commercial, suburban residential, agricultural and limited-industrial districts to I-1 industrial zoning. The county notice says the change would bring the existing use into compliance, allow potential improvements to the current site and permit possible expansion onto undeveloped property.
The notice establishes the request and hearing schedule but does not detail possible traffic, noise, stormwater or neighboring-property effects. The application can be reviewed through the county Planning, Zoning and Inspection Department during weekday business hours.
