The City of Reidsville says its routine water-quality preventive maintenance activity is ending, with the utility switching from chlorine back to chloramines beginning April 5, 2026.
The city states the transition process takes about five days and is coordinated with multiple Triad water systems, including Greensboro, High Point, Burlington, and the Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority.
During the April 6-10 flushing window, residents may notice temporary taste or odor changes, reduced pressure, or brief discoloration. The notice says those effects are expected during system flushing and do not indicate unsafe water.
For Reidsville households and nearby corridor communities, this is an active operations update with practical at-home guidance, including running cold water briefly if discoloration appears.
