The N.C. Department of Transportation announced on April 16, 2026 that part of Boone Road in Rockingham County is scheduled to close beginning April 27 at 9 a.m., weather permitting.
NCDOT said the closure is tied to roundabout construction at the Boone Road, Bridge Street, and Washington Street intersection, with reopening projected for late July and additional closures expected later in the project cycle.
For Reidsville and greater Rockingham corridor commuters, this is a near-term transportation-impact advisory that can affect travel between Eden-area connectors and surrounding work, school, and service routes.
The agency posted detour routing via Bridge Street, West Kings Highway, South Van Buren Road, West Stadium Drive, and West Meadow Road, and urged drivers to allow extra travel time.
