Williamson Road paving continues overnight through Oct. 2 in Roanoke

ROANOKE — Milling and paving on Williamson Road will continue through Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, with overnight work scheduled between Orange Avenue and Malvern Road at the Roanoke County line.

The City of Roanoke’s road notice says crews are working Sunday through Thursday nights, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., for the duration of the project. Work began Aug. 24 and is moving north from Orange Avenue.

Local traffic will continue to have access to homes and businesses, but the city warns drivers, cyclists and pedestrians to expect additional travel time and to use caution around crews and equipment. Drivers who can choose another route should allow extra time through the work zone.

Questions about the project can be directed to the city’s Transportation Division at 540-853-2676. The city says the work is intended to improve safety and traffic flow along the corridor.
