Roanoke Valley Libraries scheduled to close Tuesday for staff training

All Roanoke Valley Libraries will be closed Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, for staff training, according to the City of Roanoke calendar.

The calendar lists the closure from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and says the library system will return to regular operating hours Wednesday, Oct. 14. The notice applies to the Roanoke Valley library entry shown on the city calendar rather than to a single named branch.

Readers planning a visit, pickup or library program should move that trip to another day and check the library system for any branch-specific updates. Star News is reporting the posted schedule; the calendar does not list changes to online services.
