Five Roanoke street closures affect downtown travel through the weekend

TRAFFIC ALERT: The City of Roanoke lists several active downtown street closures for events taking place from Thursday through Sunday.

For the GO Outside Festival, the city says these streets are closed from Thursday morning through Sunday evening, Oct. 18, 2026:

• Jefferson Street between Luck Avenue and Elm Avenue
• Franklin Road between Williamson Road and Jefferson Street
• 3rd Street SE between Tazewell Avenue and Bullitt Avenue

The city also lists two closures from Friday, Oct. 16, through Saturday, Oct. 17:

• Luck Avenue SW between 3rd and 4th streets for Straight Street Youth Night
• Norfolk Avenue SW between 8th and 9th streets for Terror Manor

Drivers should use alternate routes and expect additional pedestrian activity around the event areas. The city provides 540-853-2676 for questions or concerns about the special-event closures.
