Roanoke to close Market Street SW for Oct. 23 Movie Night

ROANOKE, Va. — Market Street SW between Campbell and Kirk is scheduled to close for a city-listed Movie Night event on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026.

The Roanoke calendar lists the closure as an all-day special-event restriction. The same calendar identifies Movie Night at Market Square in downtown Roanoke from 8 to 10 p.m.

For drivers, the practical takeaway is to avoid the Market Street block between Campbell and Kirk while the event setup and screening are underway. The city listing does not provide a detour or parking plan in the details reviewed, so people heading downtown should check the city record before leaving.

The calendar directs residents with questions to the city’s Special Event Feedback Survey or to call 540-853-2676. This is an event-related closure notice, not a report of a crash or emergency road condition.
