Roanoke planning boards move public hearings to evening schedule

Roanoke is changing the timing of several planning-related public hearings beginning in July 2026.

The city says the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Architectural Review Board will now hold public hearings at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at 215 Church Avenue SW. The July Planning Commission public hearing was canceled, while July Board of Zoning Appeals and Architectural Review Board materials remain part of the city notice.

The change is intended to improve access for residents who cannot attend daytime meetings. For property owners, neighborhood groups, developers, and preservation watchers, the new time may affect when to attend or submit comments.
