**Martinsville, VA** – Rico Johnson, the owner of Kornner Kitchen, has spoken out following a recent altercation that occurred near his establishment on Main Street. In a candid 20-minute Facebook post, Johnson confirmed that he assisted in cleaning up the glass from a shattered plate glass window located in the basement of the old Globmans building. This damage resulted from a confrontation involving local residents Michael Pritchett and Coy Grant.



In his post, Johnson categorically denied claims that he had offered to compensate Tim Martin with $3,000 for the damage caused during the incident. He further urged the community to refrain from delving into his financial matters, stating, "I recommend that people stay out of my pockets."



The situation escalated following reports of a disturbance at Kornner Kitchen, prompting a response from local law enforcement. According to an official release, officers were attempting to disperse the crowd on Main Street when one officer and a suspect inadvertently crashed through the plate glass window. Both individuals sustained injuries and were treated at a local hospital before being released. The suspect involved in the incident is currently in custody at the city jail.



Johnson described the incident as a spontaneous confrontation that extended beyond his establishment, indicating that there were numerous people gathered in the vicinity. Sources have informed Star News that Pritchett and Grant are  prohibited from entering Kornner Kitchen, but where on scene partying outside. Tim Martin, a witness to the chaos, noted that approximately 150 people were celebrating on Church Street and Main Street, with much of the activity seemingly revolving around Kornner Kitchen.



As the investigation continues, local officials are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. The Martinsville community is rallying together, seeking to restore peace and safety in the area following this unsettling event.
