Rockingham County Schools Prioritize Student Safety Ahead of New School Year

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — As the new school year approaches, Rockingham County Schools are implementing crucial safety measures to ensure the well-being of students. District officials, law enforcement, and school leaders convened at Rockingham County High School for the annual School Safety Summit, aimed at enhancing preparedness and training for staff and safety personnel.

 



 



 



 



Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page underscored the significance of communication in safeguarding students, stating, "We just want to make sure everybody has a great start and a great finish throughout the year." The summit served as a platform for fostering collaboration among all involved stakeholders.



 



 



 



 



In a proactive initiative, new safety systems have been installed in all middle and high schools across the county, reflecting the community's commitment to protecting students, families, and visitors. Superintendent Gladieux remarked, "We felt it necessary as a community and as a school district to do what we could to safeguard and protect our students."



 



 



 



 



With the first day of school scheduled for August 26, local officials agree that these enhanced safety measures are essential in preventing potential threats and ensuring a secure learning environment.
