Danville, VA - Early Sunday morning, law enforcement officials responded to a series of criminal incidents in Danville, leading to one arrest and an ongoing manhunt for another suspect.
At approximately 2:40 AM, officers arrived at Gold and Diamond Jewelry, located on Mount Cross Road, following a burglary alarm. Upon investigation, they found the business had been broken into, resulting in damage to property and the theft of an undisclosed amount of jewelry.
Authorities developed 23-year-old Nicholas Guest as a suspect, and he was subsequently arrested. Guest faces charges of burglary and is currently being held in the Danville City Jail without bond.
Additionally, police are investigating an armed robbery that took place shortly after at the Valero Fast Mart on South Boston Road around 5 AM. A male suspect, armed with a knife, demanded cash from the store and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect is described as a short male wearing a gray hoodie and a face mask. This robbery remains under investigation as police work to locate the suspect.
