CRIME
In a significant ruling from the District Attorney's Offices in Rockingham and Caswell Counties, Tyler David Crank, now 20 years old, has been convicted of First Degree Murder in Superior Court. The court has sentenced him to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole after he was found guilty of killing his father, Jimmie 'Joey' Joseph Crank, when he was just 17 years old.
The tragic incident occurred in February 2022, when law enforcement responded to a stabbing at 470 Green Pasture Lane in Ruffin. Despite immediate medical efforts, Jimmie Crank succumbed to a fatal injury that severed his pulmonary artery.
Under North Carolina law, Tyler Crank must serve a minimum of 25 years before being eligible for parole. If he is not granted parole, he will remain incarcerated for the remainder of his life. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) played a crucial role in the investigation of this case.
