CRIME
LYNCHBURG, Va. – A resident of Lynchburg has been charged following an extensive multi-agency investigation into child pornography, initiated by a cyber tip received by the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children (SOVA-ICAC) Task Force in July.
The investigation began with an account suspected of containing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). After obtaining a search warrant, Bedford investigators confirmed the presence of CSAM and identified the suspect's residence in Lynchburg. The case was then referred to the Lynchburg Police Department for further investigation.
Lynchburg detectives validated the findings and secured additional search warrants for the suspect's home and vehicle. On Tuesday, with support from the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, police executed the search warrants, resulting in the seizure of several electronic devices.
This case underscores the commitment of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and safeguard vulnerable children within the community. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
