Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash in Pittsylvania County Under Investigation by VSP

**PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va.** – The Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a tragic two-vehicle accident that occurred on Wednesday evening in Pittsylvania County.



The collision took place around 5:30 p.m. on Route 41, just south of Route 1133. A 2009 Hyundai Genesis, driven by 27-year-old Uniqua Alece Wykia Carter of Chatham, lost control and crossed the center line, resulting in a head-on crash with a 2015 Chevrolet Sierra.



Carter was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was transported to SOVAH Health Danville, where she later succumbed to her injuries. An 11-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the Hyundai, was also taken to the hospital for treatment.



The driver of the Chevrolet, a 32-year-old man, along with a 2-year-old girl, were both properly secured in their safety equipment and were also transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.



VSP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
