Tragic Storm Incident Claims Life in Rockingham County

**Rockingham County, N.C.** – A 78-year-old woman tragically lost her life when a severe storm caused an oak tree to fall on her mobile home on Clearwater Lane on Thursday night.

Emergency responders from the Williamsburg Fire Department reported that the woman was in her bathroom at the time of the incident. Living alone, she was not known to have any prior health issues.

The storm occurred shortly after a tornado warning was issued for Rockingham County, which was set to continue until 7 p.m. Although the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office did not receive any additional reports of damage or injuries, the situation was brought to light by a concerned call from the victim’s daughter. She had spoken with her mother the night before and, worried about her safety during the storm, asked a neighbor to check on her. The neighbor discovered the fallen tree on the home.

As of now, the woman's identity has not been disclosed, and she is the only confirmed fatality associated with this tragic event.

Stay tuned for further updates as more information becomes available.
