Greensboro — Guilford County and the Town of Summerfield will hold a free drive-through recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 26, at Laughlin Primary School, 7915 Summerfield Road, Summerfield. The county says the event is open to all county residents.
The event will combine several services at one stop. A medication take-back station hosted by the Guilford County Sheriff's Office and a food drive hosted by A Simple Gesture will operate alongside the recycling collection.
Residents may bring listed household appliances, electronics, up to 50 passenger tires or 10 heavy-truck tires per vehicle, clean plastic bags, flattened cardboard and up to five file boxes of personal documents for secure shredding. Unwanted or expired medications are also accepted, but liquids are not.
Business waste, fuel, batteries and light bulbs are not accepted at the event. Household hazardous waste can be taken instead to Guilford County's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center at 2750 Patterson St. in Greensboro.
