Greensboro Board of Adjustment meets Sept. 28 on zoning appeals, variances

Greensboro's Board of Adjustment is scheduled to meet Monday, Sept. 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Katie Dorsett Council Chamber at the Melvin Municipal Office Building, 300 W. Washington St.

The city describes the board as a quasi-judicial body that hears and decides appeals, variance requests, special exceptions and interpretations of Greensboro's zoning regulations. Its work can affect how development rules are applied when property owners or other applicants seek relief from the strict wording of the development ordinance.

The Board of Adjustment has seven members appointed by City Council. Regular meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The city's board page lists the Sept. 28 meeting and provides access to the current agenda and later minutes when posted.

People who need an interpreter or other auxiliary aid are asked to contact Olivia Byrd at 336-373-2986. The city also lists ADA coordinator Gary Canapinno at 336-373-2723 and asks residents to request needed services three to five days before the meeting.
