Greensboro residents looking for a place to cool off have two city outdoor pools, two free spraygrounds and several summer programs still on the calendar.
The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department says the pools at Peeler Recreation Center, 1300 Sykes Ave., and Warnersville Recreation Center, 601 Doak St., are open for daily swim sessions. Peeler is open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Warnersville follows the same hours on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
For a no-admission option, the city lists spraygrounds at Keeley Park, 4100 Keeley Road in McLeansville, and Barber Park, 1500 Barber Park Drive. Both are scheduled to operate daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Upcoming pool programming includes an Adult Pool Party from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Warnersville, with $5 admission. A Teen Night @ the Rec Pool Party is set for Aug. 21 for ages 13-17. The city also says both outdoor pools will shift to weekend-only operations beginning the weekend of Aug. 15 and will close for the season Sept. 6.
One facility note for families: Lindley Pool will not reopen for the 2026 season while its filtration system is replaced. The city says the project remains on track for a 2027 reopening.
