NASCAR presents Wendell Scott's family a trophy for 1963 win 2021
Danville
In late August 2021 NASCAR presented the family of Danville's Wendell Scott a trophy marking his December 1, 1963 win, nearly 58 years after the race.
The presentation took place at Daytona International Speedway before the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Scott had not been given a trophy when he was declared the winner in 1963. Scott's son Frank spoke for the family. Wikipedia likewise says the family did not receive the trophy until 2021.
