Another school consolidation proposal is on the table, and this time Campbell Court Elementary School could be closing its doors.

The proposed plan calls for closing Campbell Court Elementary and splitting its student population between Stanleytown Elementary School and Sanville Elementary School.

But before anyone starts packing up classrooms, there's still plenty to figure out.

The proposal calls for evaluating facility improvements at Stanleytown and Sanville, along with student attendance boundaries, transportation, staffing and instructional needs to accommodate the additional students.

The proposed timeline targets the 2029–2030 school year for implementation, but that is contingent on School Board approval and completion of the necessary preparations.

Officials emphasize that the proposal is being presented for consideration and public input.

So, Campbell Court's future is now part of the consolidation conversation. Parents, students and the community may want to pay close attention — because if this proposal moves forward, two schools will be getting a lot more students, and one school could be getting a going-away party.

No final decision has been announced. The proposal remains subject to consideration, public input and School Board approval.
