HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. — Law enforcement agencies are searching for a robbery suspect after a convenience store was held up Sunday afternoon in Halifax County.

According to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at approximately 1 p.m. on August 2 to Smiley's Convenience Store on Bill Tuck Highway following a report of a robbery.

The Halifax County Sheriff's Office was joined at the scene by the South Boston Police Department and the Virginia State Police as officers began searching for the suspect and investigating the incident.

Authorities have not yet released a description of the suspect or disclosed what was taken during the robbery.

The investigation remains active, and law enforcement is asking anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect's whereabouts to contact the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.
