Older adults and people with disabilities in Guilford County can get free fans to help beat the summer heat.
The United Way of Greater High Point has teamed up with Senior Resources of Guilford for the giveaway. The next distribution runs from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Triad Food Pantry at 311 Johnson Street in High Point. To receive a fan, you must live in Guilford County and be at least 60 years old or a disabled adult; proof of disability and a photo ID are required.
Organizers say donations of new 20-inch box fans and monetary gifts are also being accepted to help neighbors stay cool and safe.
