Rockingham County residents can safely dispose of unwanted pesticides Wednesday at a free collection event in Reidsville. The drop-off runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension office at 525 NC Highway 65, with the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services handling disposal.

The collection is limited to pesticides only, and no other household hazardous waste will be accepted. Unwanted agricultural and home pesticides can be dropped off at no cost, and organizers ask residents to bring only products they no longer need and to keep containers sealed.

The event is coordinated through the Rockingham County center of N.C. Cooperative Extension. Questions can go to Kathryn Holmes at 336-342-8230.
